Current Operations in SyteLine is the shop-floor-facing view of job operations currently available or in process, filtered by work center or resource, from which operators report quantity complete, scrap, and labor time against the job.

Current Operations Explained

Rather than asking an operator to find a job number and drill into its routing, Current Operations presents the operations that are actually workable now for a given work center or resource. Each row shows the job and suffix, operation number, item, quantity required, quantity already completed, and the scheduled window. The operator selects a row and reports against it, which is a far lower-friction interaction than navigating the full job structure on a shop terminal.

Reporting from this view drives several downstream effects at once. Quantity complete moves the job forward and, where backflushing is configured, triggers automatic material deduction and labor posting for the operation. Scrap quantities post to scrap accounts and, depending on configuration, can drive replacement quantity onto the job. Labor time either accrues at a standard rate or captures actual clocked time, feeding both job cost and efficiency reporting.

The view is also a scheduling feedback loop. Because APS schedules operations against finite capacity, timely and accurate completion reporting is what keeps the schedule honest.
